Jamie Foxx’s Recovery Didn’t Stop Him From Celebrating Daughter Corinne’s Engagement.

Jamie Foxx’s daughter, Corinne Foxx, shared how her engagement became a special moment, even as her father faced a health crisis. Despite the situation, Jamie didn’t let his medical emergency stop him from celebrating with her.

Corinne's now-husband, Joe Wooten, wasn’t deterred either. When he proposed to Corinne in 2023, he adjusted his plans to Chicago, where Jamie was undergoing treatment at a rehabilitation center after a serious, undisclosed medical condition. The celebration even took place by Jamie’s bedside.

"When my dad fell ill, everything changed," Corinne explained. "We spent the summer in Chicago for his recovery, and I had no idea that Joe altered his proposal plans but kept the date. He found a park with cherry blossoms in bloom and proposed there."

Corinne, 30, added, "Joe flew in my mom from Los Angeles and had my aunts hiding nearby, FaceTiming my dad. Afterward, he organized a post-engagement party in my dad's rehab room. It was a small but meaningful celebration."

Jamie later played a pivotal role in the couple’s wedding. On September 21, Corinne and Joe were married at Jamie’s home in Thousand Oaks, California, where Jamie proudly walked his daughter down the aisle—a touching full-circle moment for them.

Jamie, who co-hosts the game show Beat Shazam with Corinne, credited his daughter and sister, Deidra Dixon, with saving his life during his health scare. Although Jamie hasn’t revealed specifics about his medical condition, he shared that he was "gone for 20 days."

In December, while accepting the Vanguard Award at the Critics Choice Association’s event celebrating Black, Latino, and AAPI achievements, Jamie reflected, saying, "It’s incredible, I couldn’t have done this six months ago. I wasn’t even able to walk."

He added, "Now, I value every moment."
